I think of learning literature, may be the most complex process. It also difficult to me. Sometimes I’ll be confused. After later I’ll be enjoyed. Whatever literature always gives me some different surprise. Its key problem is that you love it.

Teaching literature, we should do: 1) building confidence, in order to build confidence, reading should be seen as cooperative activity where everyone explores literature together. Teachers may want to find out what students have previously needed. 2) Creating the motivation to read: a pre-reading stage, and to encourage enthusiasm of reading texts and to arouse feelings of excitement and anticipation about the text .3) showing how something might best be read: teacher gives play a treat part in how something is read. Think how best a text might be read. 4) Assisting understanding: give initial assistance by reading aloud. Show emotion to a text, and give out a glossary to allow students to ask you questions. 5) Help students express their feeling: to check on student’s understanding, use personal response first. Give exercise according to language competence of the students.

Now, I have some viewpoints in my learning to teach literature. Traditionally, literature is defined by genre, modes of discourse, by time period, by nationality or by quality. Often regarded as an art, and always has form. It has an essential relationship to life and derives certain of its basic characteristics form language. Through expression of value judgment —-‘great books’ which are notable for literary form or expression. Close association to the imagination. Literature competence includes the ability to infer a message, in ESL or EFL situations competence may or may not be developed depending on exposure to literature in L1. It intimately connected with ability to perceive how language patterns reinforce the message.

Learning TESL, as well as become a teacher. Education is an on-going effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonic. To give all children regardless of their backgrounds, religious convictions or descent an equal opportunity to receive the best education. To manage our work efficiently, speedily and wisely. We should establish a national system of education which will satisfy the need of the nation and promote its cultural, social, economic and political development…including in particle provision for the progressive development of an educational system in which the native language is the medium of instruction.

Best wishes to everyone!

As a Chinese student. I am glad to come here, and study in UKM. It is first time that I may be having some scare when left my hometown very far away. Even, I didn’t know how to study and live in Malaysian. But now, I can live with my friend very well. That is to say, Malaysian wasn’t strange to me! Certainly, I should thank my friends and teachers for me!!
